Tustin HUMMER Children's Hospital of Orange County Event TUSTIN HUMMER is proud to be putting the smiles on the little faces of the community. As part of the HUMMER Courageous Kids Program, TUSTIN HUMMER donated two 12-volt HUMMER ride-on vehicles to the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) for young patients to “drive” themselves into surgery.

As part of the HUMMER Courageous Kids Program, TUSTIN HUMMER donated two 12-volt HUMMER ride-on vehicles to the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) for young patients to “drive” themselves into surgery. Mark Parkinson,Mark Parkinson Dealer Principal and General Manager of Tustin HUMMER, recalls when his daughter was just two years old battling cancer how difficult that trip was to the operating room. So, when he had this opportunity to donate two HUMMER ride-on vehicles the decision was a “no-brainer.” This concept was first implemented by the General Motors assembly facility in Shreveport, Louisiana, home of the H3. The HUMMER Courageous Kids Program has been donating to local hospitals since last year and the public response has been very positive. Medical professionals at the participating hospitals have found that the excitement of riding in a toy HUMMER can take a child’s mind off their procedure and dramatically lessen their anxiety (as well as that of their parents). It also gives children a sense of “control” over a situation where they are undergoing new and frightening experiences. Tustin HUMMER will continue to support the program through additional donations to the Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
